Shining a bright light on the most inspiring projects around the world, our March/April issue is now on newsstands. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s inside.

Kicking off our selection of knockout projects shaping the future is Saucier + Perrotte‘s bold, nature-inspired pharmaceutical building in Vancouver for the University of British Columbia. And we check out Renzo Piano‘s Astrup Fearnley Museet, the grand structure with the mast-like glass-and-steel roof that is redefining Oslo’s shoreline.

We also delve into the massive, ongoing revitalization of Toronto’s Regent Park, Canada’s largest social housing complex. Urban affairs writer John Lorinc explores its five-phase master plan, which includes Daniels Spectrum, a mixed-use building by Diamond Schmitt Architects, and the Aquatic Centre by Toronto’s MJMA.

To complement this collection of newly completed buildings, we profile seven innovative concepts – some being built, some simply meant to inspire meaningful change in the future. Among them are Höweler + Yoon‘s mind-bending proposal for overhauling the transportation infrastructure of the BoWash corridor, and Diller Scofidio + Renfro‘s daring, almost completely transparent medical building for Columbia University, slated for completion in 2016.

In product news, we present our top picks from Interieur, a curated design biennial in Belgium, as well as Cologne’s Orgatec, the office furniture fair where the likes of Walter Knoll, Montis and Vitra launched their latest visions for the workplace of the future.

We also gathered together the best sofas, sectionals and modular arrangements for residential and contract interiors, and the most innovative staircases, railings and barrier systems, in custom and DIY options.
