The Design Technology Summer Intern role assists in the development and creation of supporting Revit/BIM content whilst ensuring the proper application of the firm’s best practices and standards.The successful candidate will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in the review and development of BIM content. Job Responsibilities:
- Self-manage and deliver on selected and assigned tasks and projects.
- When and where applicable, coordinate support between external vendors and internal staff.
- Assist with the configuration and testing of software applications and workflows.
- Review and create Design+Technology learning materials (How To’s, User Guides, etc.).
- Maintain general awareness of related design software,(incl. add-ons, plug-ins, apps, etc.)
- Participate in internal team meetings and present progress reports on assigned tasks.
BIM Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of BIM content (families, templates, etc.) contributing to firm-wide content/resources.
- Exercise command and use of industry standards in the development of CAD/BIM content.
- Vet BIM and other staff created content submitted for Design+Technology review/approval.
- Assist in the development, testing and codifying of best practices and workflows.
- As requested, provide staff guidance in the use of developed/approved best practices and workflows.
Collaboration:
- Maintain close working relationships with the following:
- Firm-wide Design + Technology Specialists & Managers
- Digital Practice Group and BIM Project Leads
- Applications Team, General IT Team and Department Leadership
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Business or Design Planning Programs or have completed the third year of an undergraduate program or a first year of a Graduate program.
- 5+ semesters in pursuit of an Associates, B.S. or Bachelors of Architecture degree at an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of experience using Autodesk Revit (Revit Architecture) for scholastic or professional pursuits.
- Familiarity with related design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, ACAD, 3DS Max, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.) a plus.
- Experience working with Revit in an architectural practice, is a plus.
