The Pritzker Prize-winning architect on what he’s re-reading and the classical musician he’s fascinated by.

Reading  I’m revisiting, as I do about every decade, William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying and Franz Kafka’s The Trial. I’m fascinated with the enigma; there’s something so difficult to grasp in both of them. They’re indecipherable, and they contain endless intrigue.

Listening  I’m always looking into many artists, but right now it’s Zoë Keating, the Canadian cellist. She’s fascinating to watch. She went to computer school, then connected her computing and her classical cello playing with extremely interesting avant-garde music.

Surfing  Every morning, I read the New York Times from cover to cover, before I go out. I get much of it done just lying in bed, going over my day.
