IIDEXCanada, the largest design and architecture exposition and conference in the country, takes place December 2nd and 3rd. Here are a few early-bird tips to help you plan your visit.

Registration for the 2015 edition of IIDEXCanada is now open and free to those who sign up before November 17. The two-day event is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on December 2nd and 3rd. Each year, some 1,300 exhibitor booths and displays fill the convention floor, ranging from exhibits of wood products crafted by local designers to THINK:Material, an IIDEXCanada exhibition and online library showcasing the world’s most innovative sustainable materials.

The 30,000+ interior designers and architects attending the event will also be able to take in dozens of professional development seminars to share knowledge and gain accreditations. While a complete list of international speakers has yet to be confirmed, tickets are now on sale for the 2015 breakfast keynote talk by Zita Cobb, president and CEO of Shorefast Foundation, and founder of Fogo Island Inn, Newfoundland. The wildly celebrated coastal hotel and artists residency, designed by Canadian architect Todd Saunders, has won numerous awards. Most recently, Cobb and her foundation were recipients of Azure’s own AZ Awards’ Social Good Award.

We will be reporting on IIDEXCanada as the show approaches, but international visitors take note: travel subsidies are available to interior designers, architects or facility managers from outside Canada, who are specialists in commercial and institutional design and architecture. Deadline to apply is October 2, 2015.
