In London’s Shoreditch neighbourhood, the Dutch designer has opened a retail space carrying his entire body of work, including pieces for Moroso, Swarovski and Artecnica, as well as one-offs exclusive to the shop.

Boontje, best known for fusing advanced manufacturing processes with artisanal techniques, is also working from the retail space, which houses his relocated studio and workshop.

“I hope my presence and that of my team will create a friendly atmosphere, where people are welcome and can browse, ask questions, share thoughts and get an insight into the workings behind the scenes and into the making of products,” he said in a statement.

Perched on crate displays are furnishings, luminaires, textiles and home accessories. The dramatic and whimsical vignettes, illuminated with spotlights and projections of his signature floral motif, highlight such unique pieces as his draped Doll chairs for Moroso, ceramic tableware for Authentics and kitchenware for Artecnica made by artisanal collectives in Brazil, Colombia and Guatemala.

Boontje’s sparkling chandeliers and floral pendants for Swarovski and Artecnica almost cover the whole ceiling, creating a dazzling display of light, while mirrors, vases, textiles and laser-cut wall coverings adorn the walls and tables.

Tord Boontje Shop is located at 23 Charlotte Rd. in London, U.K.
