In Milan, the New York studio transformed an industrial space into a whiteout shop interior for the fashion label, with ribbons of woven textile and artful white furnishings.

COS is the minimalist boutique owned by H&M, and while it has a shop on Corso Venezia in Milan, it devised a stunning installation elsewhere – in Spazio Erbe – during Milan Design Week. Snarkitecture turned the interior of into something between a cavern dense with stalactites and lush snowdrifts. Ribbons of gauzy textile – 100,000 metres of the material – descended from the ceiling to create voluminous yet weightless masses.

The brand, which is planning its first shop in Toronto, to be situated in the city’s high-end Yorkville neigbhourhood, showed off its accessories on tables that resembled picnic tables with slats that have been slid back and forward, and on minimal racks – all of them also designed by the New York firm, led by Daniel Arsham.
