Sex and the City 2 set decorator Lydia Marks furnished Carrie Bradshaw’s Manhattan apartment with a Lola ottoman from the Finnish, London-based textile designer Anne Kyyrö Quinn. The film opens this weekend.

While textile designer Anne Kyyrö Quinn specializes in highly decorative acoustic wall panels constructed using industrial felt, her Lola ottoman takes a more intimate tack. Upholstered in blue wool felt (which is cut, sewn and finished by hand), the piece makes an appearance in the posh home of fashionista Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker in this weekend’s Sex and the City.

Set designer Lydia Marks chose the piece for its vibrant colour and sculptural design. “We needed an ottoman for a very important scene in the film and when we came across this one, we knew it would be perfect for Big and Carrie’s apartment,” says Marks.

In addition to the wall panels, Kyyrö Quinn has applied felt to blinds, lighting, cushions and other home furnishings. Her clients include Virgina Atlantic, BBC and W Hotels.
