1 Pearl by Electrolux
At this year’s Salone del Mobile, Electrolux introduced the Inspiration range for kitchen and laundry that includes the Pearl extractor. Equipped with steam and smoke sensors, this hood will switch itself on and off and adjust its settings automatically based on the conditions in your kitchen.
2 Arkea by Faber
Faber carries a wide range of flush ceiling-, wall- and countertop-mounted extractors that are virtually invisible. But for Arkea, the company opted for a bold look. This spherical extractor, which lights up from within and it is fitted with spotlights that illuminate your cooktop, automatically retracts to the ceiling when not in use.
3 Maris by Franke
In either black or white, Maris features specially developed soundproofing that minimizes the level of noise while it works. Dual-functionality allows it to vent to the outdoors if a conduit is available, or to filter the air and re-circulate it back into the kitchen when venting is not an option.
4 AL 400 by Gaggenau
This handsome, stainless steel backsplash ventilation comes in two widths, both 14 centimetres deep. It can be surface-mounted or flush-mounted, disappearing into the countertop when not in use. It’s island-friendly and works in large-open concept kitchens where wall and ceiling mounts are impractical.
5 DA 2900 by Miele
Miele’s new ceiling extractor integrates the kitchen and living areas, allowing the space to be a comfortable, odour-free social hub. Operated by remote, the flush mounting increases available space to maximize open-concept living/kitchen plans. Meanwhile, LED lighting and a high-efficiency DC motor is expected to cut energy use up to 70 per cent.
6 AirDeLuxe by Neff
This hood features a faceted black, glass panel framed in stainless steel that doubles as a backsplash. It’s also has an integrated display that’s equipped with hidden short-stroke buttons. A suspension device allows for easy installation, while a magnetic mounting behind the glass panel provides ample access to change the filters.
