Dutch furniture manufacturer Arco shows off works by London’s award-winning Okay Studio – a collective that includes art-design maverick Peter Marigold and Raw Edges’s Shay Alkalay & Yael Mer – at Galerie Vivid in Rotterdam.

Following the success six years ago of the Arco 12 project, a series of pieces created in collaboration with 12 emerging Dutch designers, the company has invited 10 designers from London’s award-winning Okay Studio to create wood prototypes in an Arco Okay workshop. The goal: to design furniture that stands out from Arco’s current collection, while highlighting the manufacturer’s production possibilities.

The exhibit includes Tomas Alonso‘s Mushiki side tables, Mathias Hahn‘s slick extendable desk, Shai Akram‘s marquetry, Oscar Narud‘s towering coat racks, Eelko Moorer bedroom storage and Jorre van Ast‘s oak furnishings.

Most members of Okay Studio, including Van Ast, who was recently named Arco’s creative director, met while studying product design at the Royal College of Art in London. They launched the collective in 2007.

Okay London runs until June 26 at Galerie Vivid in Rotterdam.
