Milan 2012: Best in Bath
Blu Scavolini

Salone del Bagno, the bath fair that runs concurrently with Milan’s epic furniture show, hosted hundreds of exhibitors debuting the latest pieces for the home’s most private space. Innovations from Catalano, Laufen and Scavolini caught our attention.

1 Blu Scavolini

Italy’s über-popular kitchen manufacturer is now in the bathroom business. Its new Blu brand offers an extensive line of furnishings, including wash basins, suspended or freestanding taps, mirrors, and a variety of wall units.

2 Impronta by Catalano

Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas’s sink features a basin that references the movement of water with organic bumps and hollows that guide its flow. An adjacent solid surface provides a place for storage, while a thin metal bar below is for hanging towels.

3 Trame by Tubes

This radiator’s steel tubes gently wave to create a multi-planar effect without disrupting the surrounding space. Designed by Stefano Giovannoni, Trame’s valves are connected remotely. The model comes in three sizes.
