British textile company Designers Guild has unveiled a new collection by the fashion designer that’s just as luxe and dramatic as his couture.

Officially launched at January’s Maison&Objet in Paris, the latest home furnishing line by Christian Lacroix is appropriately bursting with Parisian influences. Just take a look at the “Air de Paris” textile and wallpaper collection. It’s based on a woman’s journey from Arles in southern France (where Lacroix spent his childhood) to the City of Lights, and represents her mementos and experiences along the way.

In true Lacroix style, the motifs are vivid, wildly eclectic and sensual. The fashion house’s creative director, Sacha Walckhoff, combined stunning patterns with graphic re-imaginations of classic French motifs. The more than 12 new fabrics also include “Marseille,” a jacquard chenille on a natural canvas background that interprets a 17th-century Indian damask in a modern way; “French FrouFrou,” a ruffled trompe l’oeil on fine sateen cotton; and “Paris!” a printed linen panel featuring monuments of the French capital.

Among the six wallpapers are “Voyage,” inspired by an antique map of Camargue, the region where Arles is located, and “Souvenir,” a collage of memorabilia from the house of Lacroix pinned to a ribboned board. Several of the prints are also available in cushions and rugs.

Christian Lacroix for Designers Guild is available at select retailers worldwide and online at designersguild.com.
