TYS Table lamp by Christophe Delcourt
This oak and lacquered steel lamp by Parisian designer Christophe Delcourt will make it hard to call it a day. It also comes in suspension and floor lamp versions ($1,960).
Corelamp by Rich Brilliant Willing
With its zen-like exterior, this white paper and gold foil pendant reduces emissions through local manufacturing and use of post-consumer materials. Though it’s built to last, the shade completes the 3R’s by also being 100 per cent recyclable. Available in custom colours ($70).
Cut-Ups Hoop light by Brothers Dressler
This gritty floor lamp is made from a combination of off-cuts from this duo’s furniture creations, obsolete bicycle rims from local cycle shops and trash bins and a salvaged surveyor’s tripod. It comes in a pendant light version and sizes and wood types can be customized ($2,400).
Etch light by Tom Dixon
Inspired by mathematical logic and manufactured using the same process employed by circuit boards, the 0.4 mm thick surfaces of this brass pendant are etched with exquisite detail, which cast celestial patterns when lit ($325).
Bang Boom by Ingo Maurer
The pages of a comic book leap out in all directions in this limited-edition light, first launched during Salone del Mobile last year. Each sheet of Japanese paper is clipped to radiating stainless steel wires that enclose a frosted glass light, allowing you to rearrange the order and create your own story ($5,199).
Equo by Koncept
This slim desk lamp by California’s Koncept doesn’t take up much room, but is certainly statement-making. A simple slide of the finger over the stem’s touch sensitive strip switches the LED light on or off and dims it. The head’s tilt stays parallel to the desk surface thanks to a constant angle joint ($279).
