1 All’Altezza by Rapsel
Architect Mario Nanni’s design for a freestanding washbasin incorporates a foot pedal that allows the height to be adjusted by the user, making it suitable for young children and those with reduced mobility.
2 Tao by Antoniolupi
With a single movement, Nevio Tellatin’s Tao wall-mounted shower chair can be unfolded into place or lowered to allow for freer movement. The unobtrusive seat is made from satin-finish stainless steel with a soft polyurethane padding.
3 Delos and SensoWash C by Duravit
The Delos lavatory is a floating console for those in wheelchairs – or those who simply prefer to sit. The countertop and feather-light drawers are available in maple, walnut and high-gloss white.The SensoWash shower toilet offers integrated washers, important for those with flexibility issues, and is also lit from within to make it easy to spot at night.
4 Axor Citterio by Hansgrohe
Antonio Citterio’s single-hole faucet was designed to be both luxurious and ergonomic. Its extra height provides room to move and a single side-mounted handle makes controlling water temperature and volume easier. The fixture comes in either a matte or high-polish finish.
5 Elevance by Kohler
Getting in and out of a bathtub can lead to dangerous spills. Kohler’s elevated tub features a base that sits at chair-height to make standing or moving to and from a wheelchair easier. The tub wall slides up when the tub is full and is equipped with sensors to ensure it remains secure until the tub has drained. (The most popular feature may be the massaging jets of warm air.)
6 Designer Grab Bars by Moen
An alternative to bulky versions, Moen’s wide selection of contemporary grab bars in chrome, brushed nickel and bronze finishes offer multiple uses: towel bars, paper holders and shelves. The Corner Shelf (shown) looks like mere storage, but it meets ADA weight load standards with its 115-kilogram capacity.
7 Glacier by Wetstyle
Made from Wetstyle’s proprietary Wetmar, Glacier offers a zero-elevation shower threshold with an invisible integrated slot drain to completely remove tripping hazards. Although it looks sleek, the shower floor surface is non-slip to further reduce the chance of falls.
