From January 19 to 25, IMM Cologne in Germany kicks off the year of design fairs. Here are six new furnishings for the home – by such European manufacturers as Interlübke, Cor and Living Divani – that will make their debut there.
1 Mell by Interlübke
Stuttgart’s Jehs+Laub expand their Mell collection with slick sideboards and lowboards that can be combined with wall-mounted elements, in materials such as stone, wood and leather, to form vertical or horizontal designs.
2 Lipp by Living Divani
The latest addition to Piero Lissoni’s Lipp line of elegant tufted furniture is a padded bed with curved headboard atop spindly steel legs. It can be upholstered in fabric or leather. Living Divani will also present Fju, an ingenious wood shelf that doubles as a desk.
3 Cordia by Cor
Among the German company’s new launches by four designers, Jehs+Laub’s family of charming ergonomic chairs with tilting mechanism comes in many variations: in two heights and three bases, including aluminum legs, glides or castors. Cordia suits dining or working environments.
4 Walrus by Extremis
The first sofa from Belgium’s Extremis has a smooth, wipe-clean exterior, and features a clever zipping system to store its colourful covers when not in-use, providing a dry seat all-year round.
5 Yard by Emu
Stefan Diaz’s outdoor furniture set consists of a chair, armchairs, fixed and extendable dining tables and coffee tables with frames made from varnished aluminum and seats and backrests from elastic straps. Colours include: black, white, brown, red, blue and green.
6 Foss by Ames
A waterfall inspired this sofa by Iceland’s Erla Sólveig Oskarsdóttir for Germany’s Ames. Suited to contract or residential environments, Foss comprises an upholstered seat in Kvadrat or Camira wool, with optional leather detail. Its frame is available in natural, grey or dark brown-finished oak.
